This workshop gives parents an understanding of spelling
so they can help their children.
When children enter school they have developed some skills that are used in spelling … phonological awareness skills. These skills relate to the sounds of English … at school these sounds are linked to letters …. and that is SPELLING! Should be easy BUT in English spelling is made more difficult by having words that “break the rules”.
In this workshop you will:
- participate in spelling activities
- learn about the skills required for spelling
- learn how to help your child master these skills
- learn how to help your child with spelling
- learn about the “rules” of spelling.
